On January 2nd I will be leaving for Florence, Italy. I’ve known about this study abroad opportunity for over a year now. My sister (follow her: theblondejournals) mentioned it to me when students went last year! We are very happy to have the opportunity to go together and experience the beautiful city of Florence.
This is the first time I will be leaving America, some nerves come with that. I’m excited to experience a new culture and live like an Italian. Packing has been the most stressful thing about this trip. Deciding what to bring is hard, because you want to have some wiggle room for shopping once there. To help prepare ourselves for this trip Chelsey and I watched the Netflix series Medici: Masters of Florence. It’s very interesting, I recommend it to anyone who is going to Italy soon.
I’m very excited to go to the museums in Florence. I love art and have a great appreciation for it. The architecture is something else I’m excited for. The world we live in today is so modern and the buildings blur together. From what I see in photos, the buildings in Florence have detail and are unique; something we don’t see often.
Another thing about this trip I’m excited for is the blogging I will be able to do. Expanding my blog is very exciting for me. Also, I enjoy photography and video making; this will be a great experience to collect content for my social medias.
Until I depart for Italy I’ve tracked my steps to figure out a daily average. When I’m working my average is 8-9,000 steps. On easier days my average is around 4,000 steps.
