Italians shop for groceries everyday, they do this to get fresh food. Unlike in America we shop for weeks at a time, here they have markets to get the freshest food possible. Since on this trip I have now been to two different markets. Wednesday our professors took us to a small local market.
The difference between the two would be that the one from Wednesday was much smaller. The fruit and vegetables were outside and the meats, bread and pastries were inside. The central market was much larger, with the market downstairs and a food court upstairs.
They are similar with the food they offer. A variety of fruits, vegetables and meats. Both of the markets were very busy, because it is a daily task for Italians.
I think I would enjoy shopping at a market daily. It would encourage me to eat healthier and cook more with my family.
